The Official Journal of EuroPCR and the European Association of Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (EAPCI)

Volume 16 Number 6

There is a CTO minifocus with a study investigating the association between coronary collaterals and myocardial viability: a second studying the impact of CTO PCI on relief of different levels of ischaemic burden; another comparing PCI outcomes of in-stent CTOs and de novo CTOs; and an investigation of the incidence, predictors, and clinical outcomes of stent optimisation by IVUS guidance in long coronary lesions or CTOs. There is an article evaluating predictors and safety of next-day discharge for TAVI patients; two short valvular heart disease reports: one providing a comprehensive reference chart for CT dimensions for commonly used aortic bioprostheses and sizes helping facilitate THV sizing for valve-in-valve procedures; and a second evaluating the safety and performance of the novel TriGUARD 3 cerebral embolic protection device. A look at transcatheter mitral replacement with a study on the impact of different fixation strategies on neo left ventricular outflow tract and aorto-mitral angulation; and a pre-clinical study introducing a reproducible animal model of ischaemic mitral regurgitation to help evaluate safety and efficacy of transcatheter approaches to MR. In interventional pharmacology, an evaluation of low-dose prasugrel use as a treatment option for elderly ACS patients.
