This issue of EuroIntervention begins with a state-of-the-art on the imaging of atherosclerotic plaques. In original research: results from the highly anticipated 4D-ACS trial on low-dose prasugrel following one-month dual antiplatelet therapy in acute coronary syndrome; and a study on the impact of supersaturated oxygen therapy for acute anterior myocardial infarction patients in relation to microvascular obstruction and infarct size. There are two research correspondences: one which looks at resting pullback pressure gradient (PPG) as an alternative to hyperaemic PPG and the other concerning intracoronary use of nicardipine vs papaverine in the measurement of fractional flow reserve and PPG.
