A EuroIntervention state-of-the-art on recanalisation of chronic total occlusions with a review of overall clinical benefits, strategies, tools and techniques as well as a look at training and education to enlarge the field of competent operators and encourage the expanded use of PCI for CTOs. In coronary interventions: the open-label TEATE trial exploring the use of bicarbonates to change urine alkalinisation with the possibility of helping control contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI); treating stent underexpansion using the novel intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) treatment, the CRUNCH registry; from the SWEDEHEART registry, a look at the timing of coronary angioplasty in the assessment of patients with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS). In interventions for valvular disease: exploring the novel filtration device, the ProtEmbo Cerebral Protection System, in TAVI patients who otherwise might be at risk of stroke. In peripheral interventions, an expert consensus on the advantages and benefits, use and strategies of IVUS in all aspects of peripheral interventions and more.
