Ultrasound renal denervation for hypertension

Objective
to study the efficacy and safety of ultrasound renal denervation compared to sham procedure for the treatment of hypertension without confounding influence of antihypertensive medication
Study
multicentre, sham-controlled, randomised trial
Population
patients with uncontrolled hypertension SBP/DBP ≥ 140/90 mm Hg but < 180/120 mm Hg and eFR 40 mL/min/1.73 m2 or greater
Endpoints
mean change is daytime ambulatory SBP at 2 months
Conclusion
ultrasound renal denervation reduced daytime ambulatory SBP at 2 months compared to sham-procedure
