Transfemoral access vs transradial access for CTO

FORT-CTO
Objective
to compare transradial access (TRA) with transfemoral access (TFA) for treatment of chronic total occlusions in terms of procedural success
Study
prospective, non-inferiority, multicentre randomised trial (margin 7%)
Population
all-comers, CTO defined as a total occlusion with TIMI flow 0 with estimated duration of more than 3 months
Endpoints
procedural success as technical success without any in-hospital MACE (death, MI, TVR tamponade and stroke)
Conclusion
TRA was non-inferior to TFA for treatment of chronic total occlusions
