TAVI in low-risk tricuspid or bicuspid aortic stenosis

NOTION-2
Objective
to compare the clinical outcomes of TAVI or surgery for low-riskpatients with tricuspid or bicuspid aortic stenosis
Study
investigator-initiated multicentre randomised trial
Population
low-risk patients (median STS risk score 1.1%) aged 75 years
Endpoints
composite of all-cause mortality, stroke or rehospitalisation at 12 months
Conclusion
among low-risk patients aged 75 years with severe aortic stenosis, the rate of adverse events (death, stroke, rehospitalisation) at 1 year did not present a statistically significant difference between TAVI and surgery
