13. Percutaneous intervention for structural heart disease

PCI prior to TAVI

ACTIVATION
Objective
to determine if PCI prior to TAVI would produce non inferior clinical results compared with no PCI
Study
investigator led, multicentre non-inferiority randomised trial (margin 7.5%)
Population
patients with severe aortic stenosis and at least 1 stenosis of ≥70% in major coronary artery
Endpoints
composite of all-cause mortality and rehospitalisation at 1 year
Conclusion
PCI prior to TAVI did not meet the non-inferiority margin compared with no PCI in terms of death and rehospitalisation at 1 year
