PCI in stable angina

Objective
to assess the effect of PCI versus Placebo procedure on exercise time in patients with stable angina
Study
double-blind, multicentre, randomised trial (placebo controlled)
Population
patients with stable angina and at least one angiographically significant lesion (≥70%)
Endpoints
difference in exercise time increment between the two groups
Conclusion
in patients with guide-line directed optimum medical therapy PCI did not increase exercise time compared to patients with optimal medical therapy undergoing a placebo procedure
