Medical treatment vs invasive treatment for NSTEMI for older patients

Objective
to report the clinical outcomes of a conservative strategy of medical therapy alone or a strategy of medical therapy plus invasive treatment for treatment of NSTEMI in elderly
Study
prospective, multicentre randomised trial
Population
patients 75 years of age or older with NSTEMI
Endpoints
composite cardiovascular death or non-fatal MI over a median follow-up of 4.1 years
Conclusion
an invasive strategy did not lower the risk of death or myocardial infarction in older adults with NSTEMI compared to a conservative strategy over a median follow-up of 4.1 years.
