Mechanical support in infarct-related cardiogenic shock

ECLS-SHOCK 1 year
Objective
to report the 1-year clinical outcomes of routine ECLS (extracorporeal life support in cardiogenic shock) plus standard care versus standard care alone in infarctrelated cardiogenic shock patients
Study
investigator-initiated, multicentre, open-label randomised trial
Population
patients with acute MI complicated by cardiogenic shock
Endpoints
prespecified 1-year outcome: all-cause mortality
Conclusion
routine ECLS does not improve 1-year survival in patients with infarctrelated cardiogenic shock
