Objective
to compare the angiographic and clinical outcomes of IVUS-guided vs angiographic-guided angioplasty for the treatment of femoropopliteal artery disease (FPA) using drug-coated balloons (DCB)
Study
investigator-initiated multicentre radomised trial
Population
patients undergoing endovascular therapy for symptomatic FPA
Endpoints
primary patency of target lesion at 12 months-defined as absence of clinically driven target lesion revascularisation or binary restenosis
Conclusion
IVUS-guided drug-balloon angioplasty for femoral popliteal disease was associated with improved clinical outcome compared to angiography-guided drug balloon angioplasty
