8. Revascularisation strategy in ACS

Immediate vs. staged complete revascularisation in patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome and multivessel coronary disease

BIOVASC
Objective
to investigate whether PCI for non-culprit lesions should be performed during the index procedure or staged in patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome
Study
prospective, multicentre, open label, non-inferiority randomised clinical trial
Population
adults presenting with acute coronary syndrome and multivessel coronary artery disease
Endpoints
a composite of all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction, any unplanned ischaemia driven revascularisation or cerebrovascular events at 1 year
Conclusion
in patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome and multivessel disease, immediate complete revascularization was non-inferior to staged complete revascularisation
