12. Cardiogenic shock and cardiac arrest

Emergency vs delayed coronary angiography in survivors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest:

EMERGE
Objective
is emergency coronary angiography (CAG) as compared to delayed CAG om survivors of out-of-hospital (OHCA) cardiac arrest without STEMI associated with a better outcome?
Study
prospective, multicentre, randomised trial
Population
OHCA survivors without STEMI
Endpoints
180-day survival rate with cerebral performance rate (CPC) of 2 or less
Conclusion
emergency CAG did not improve 180-day survival with minimal neurological sequelae (CPC ⩽2) as compared to delayed CAG in OHCA survivors
