Aspirin with or without clopidogrel after TAVI

Objective
to assess the clinical outcome of aspirin alone compared to aspirin plus clopidogrel for 3 months after TAVI
Study
investigator-initiated, open-label multicentre randomised trial
Population
patients undergoing TAVI not having an established indication for long-term anticoagulation
Endpoints
1) all bleeding (minor, major, life-threatening or disabling bleeding 2) non-procedure-related bleeding over a period of 1 year
Conclusion
aspirin alone compared to aspirin plus clopidogrel in patients undergoing TAVI was associated with significant less all bleeding and non-procedure related bleeding for a period of 12 months after TAVI
