Aspirin versus clopidogrel for long-term therapy after PCI

Objective
to report the long-term clinical outcomes of antiplatelet monotherapy (clopidogrel or aspirin) in patients with DAPT without clinical event for 12 ± 6 months after PCI with DES
Study
open-label, multicentre, randomised trial
Population
patients undergoing PCI with DES. They received long-term aspirin 100mg daily and clopidogrel 75mg daily
Endpoints
composite of all-cause death, MI, stroke, ACS or BARC type 3 bleeding during median follow up 5.8 years
Conclusion
during extended follow-up >5 years clopidogrel monotherapy compared with aspirin monotherapy was associated with lower incidence of major adverse events
